happy thanksgiving,
oh what a joy the last couple of days have been! It’s always an elaborate holiday at the Hernandez house, as we have a very mexican Thanksgiving. I love waking up and working alongside my mother in the kitchen all morning while the boys are still fast asleep. My brother flew in for the holiday and it was so nice having us all together. Last night I made a pie, oh me oh my. It was a pumpkin cream pie. I used Tracy from shutterbeans recipe. I’ve made several things using her recipes and they’ve always been so good so I decided to give this one a go. And go I did indeed
this crust was so tricky! since it was a gingerbread crust i had to work at it for quite some time to get it the way i wanted.
the filling got me a little frustrated and i began drinking due to the eagerness and frustration…juuuuust kidding it’s only cream soda of course.

I was very pleased at the results and a happy family enjoying its bounty. The rest of the day was spent with family and good friends altogether. And no Thanksgiving at casa Hernandez would be complete until Justin and my Dad broke some fancy china. On this day I have so much to be thankful for. The Lord is so good to me and I am blessed beyond measure.

i have fond, or not really so fond memories of being a pilgrim in my kindergarden thanksgiving play and a little boy in my class telling me that mexicans were not allowed to be pilgrims. i cried. luckily my thanksgivings have since improved, from overalls to my current maternity pants for more stomach expansion room.
i hope everyone has a wonderful thanksgiving. and if you are one of those people adventurin out into the world at the wee hours of the morning to get kicked in the face for a wii, wear a helmet.
OH also today is my parents anniversary. here’s to 27 years. i love you ma and pa
